Built in 1995, Mule Deer Chalet is a 3,200 square foot log home situated on a two-acre lot. It has a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, stove, fridge and microwave and is comfortably and tastefully furnished. The vaulted log ceiling in the great room towers over a warm and welcoming gathering area, which features a stone fireplace and a cedar dining table with log chairs that seat twelve. The common room also contains a games table, Blu-Ray DVD player, satellite HD television, high-speed wireless internet, telephone and a stereo for our guest’s entertainment.
The deck offers a peaceful place to sit and view the scenery. We have provided our guests with a BBQ as well as an open pit fireplace for cooking. From the beginning of November until the end of April, the chalet’s hot tub and sauna are also available. There is a canoe and life jackets available for our guests use.
The chalet has five bedrooms that can sleep up to ten persons. There is a master bedroom with an en-suite. All bedrooms have queen size beds, closets, dressers and mirrors. The chalet has two more bathrooms, a washer and dryer, a wood burning fireplace and a pellet stove. Housekeeping, kitchenware, linen and towels are provided.
Approximately 50 meters from the chalet is a public beach for all to use. The lake is warm enough for swimming and boating in the summer and offers excellent fishing all year round. In the winter there is ice fishing, skating, cross-country skiing, hiking and snowmobiling.
Just a five-minute walk from Mule Deer Chalet is Tyax Lodge, which provides many services including a restaurant for formal dining, a lounge and a gift shop. Tyax Lodge also provides access and rentals for many outdoor activities such as horseback riding, fishing, cross-country skiing, heliskiing, mountain biking, and sailing. During the summer there is also a floatplane available for sightseeing, mountain biking and fishing trips.
The whole area offers excellent nature paths as well as hiking, mountain and horseback riding trails for every level and gold panning.
