Our neighbours at Whistler Blackcomb have already opened up (a week ahead of schedule), and our operations staff have been out in the TLH tenure enjoying some pretty awesome early season conditions. Obviously it’s early days, but it would seem that the scaremongering about an El Nino-affected season might be overstated. Right now, BC has more snow than anywhere else in North America according to several skiing websites.
Our Operations Manager, Gavin Enns, reports that there’s lots of snow in the alpine and on the glaciers. Compared with previous seasons he says that it’s definitely looking better than normal.
Snow Brains have reported a forecast of 55-115" for our neighbours at Whistler Blackcomb over the next 7 days.
