Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing is featured the Swiss Magazine Fernweh and Huffington Post
This autumn Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing has been recognized across the world for the beautiful facilities and exceptional skiing it provides. First in a Swiss Magazine called “Fernweh” and more recently, and locally, Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing has been praised in a blog for the Huffington Post.
No stranger to heli-skiing, Mark Sissons boasts about the beauty of the South Chilcotin Mountains in his most recent blog in the Huffington Post on September 29, 2014. He does not hold back sharing his excitement about what he calls "possibly one of the top ten days of my entire life." The article, which can be viewed in pdf here, also speaks to: "powder so fresh and dry and deep and pure you want to roar with primal joy that you are actually here, sailing on a sea of white without a chairlift in sight." On his first day alone, Sissons is able to benefit from our unlimited vertical skiing package; logging 12 runs, some as long as 3000 feet.
As well, Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing can be seen in an online Swiss magazine called "Fernweh". Fernweh is a German word with no apparent English translation, though germannn.tumblr.com says it "is basically the opposite of homesickness (Heimweh): when you feel like you have to leave your familiar surroundings to discover new places."
To view the pdf of this article click here! Here is a translated excerpt from the article: "An impressive 95% of Heliskiing providers worldwide sit in British Columbia - and for good reason. Nowhere else in the world can you find such a symbiosis of perfect terrain, uncrowded mountains, deep snow and the possibility of both gladed and glacier skiing. At Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing, a maximum of 10 guests and 2 mountain guides have their own helicopter, exclusively. You do not share with other groups. This is pure luxury and has enormous advantages. The completely renovated Tyax Lodge is a luxurious base camp in the wilderness and offers everything a tired heli-skier needs after skiing several thousand meters of powder snow. In the evening you can enjoy après-ski at the cozy bar, a sauna, jacuzzi (outdoors with a view over the lake), massage therapy, a gift shop, gym and other leisure opportunities. For your convenience the helicopter always starts right outside of the lodge."
So everyone agrees, the combination of the most "luxurious base camp in the wilderness" and "heavenly heli-skiing" truly makes Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing a world class destination! We will continue to post any articles published in print and online in our blog. Stay tuned for more descriptive reviews of writer's escapes to Tyax Lodge & Heliskiing!
