The extensive trail network and varied terrain surrounding Tyax Wilderness Resort & Spa provides an ideal setting for horseback excursions. The gradual, sloping trails rise along the mountainside, offering stunning views of both the mountain ranges and crystal blue waters of Tyaughton Lake.
This traditional mode of travel adds the perfect western touch to your BC backcountry experience. Our guests are reminded to dress comfortably, with long pants and appropriate footwear in order to maximize the enjoyment of their outing.
Our horseback tours include:
- 1-hour rides along trails close to the Resort
- 3-hour excursions deep into local trails
- Pony rides for younger riders (<52 inches tall)
- Experienced guides and seasoned horses
Our guides have deep knowledge of the local trails, and focus on making trips safe and comfortable for riders by offering useful tips and advice. Guests have the option of booking on arrival, or ensuring preferred times by booking ahead. Either way, we’ll make sure it’s another unforgettable Tyax experience.
